KPB was coached in Europe. I think that has a bigger impact on his passing ability than his genetics. Muntari was more important to Ghana's passing anyway.
This is a fair and important point which I missed - Also Ghana's coach is the only one in Sub-Saharan Africa which the kind of in depth analysis which produces good creative team play, he visited Liverpool & Man City amongst other European teams to sponge technical info over the past year
Essentially I think that You, Fey & Blut are all correct.
There is playmaking talent in Africa that has not be harnessed properly (Blut), but it gets lost in the race to bring in Africans mainly for their physical skills (Fey). European sides have enough of their own playmakers, and prefer South American's and Asians anyway to make up for any shortfalls so they have no need to bring them over and coach them up.
Plus Africans themselves have got wrapped up in their own stigma of bigger, stronger, faster.
