Jaime - I remember you mentioning that Moi Gomez is a big talent. He scored twice today against Celta in Vigo and Villarreal not really deservedly won 3:1 (3rd was added by Mario on additional time of 2nd half, when 10-man hosts were pushing for equalizer).

1st Gomez goal was all Cheryshev direct running, but 2nd was really nice run by him finished with a prefectly placed strike from 20m.

Graham Hunter/ESPN wrote:What I also appreciate, very much, is that in the near future, it won't be the likes of Vietto who'll be sustaining the Yellow Submarine but their own, locally harvested, youth products. The motif for this is their left-back, Adrin Marn -- home-bred and already a first-team starter at 17 years old.

Club president Fernando Roig recently underlined that the club is committed to investing 10 million euros per season in youth development -- a sum that could oh so easily be punted into the transfer market or wages in order to try and ensure that Villarreal stay in La Primera or push for European competition in the short term. In terms of budget percentage, I'd say that's like Barcelona or Madrid investing 50 million euros per season in youth -- which they don't.

More than that, Villarreal have so many young kids, admittedly of all ability levels, training with them every week (around 800) that they are currently constructing a second training ground, but when it's open and functioning, they'll continue to use their current facility, too.
<Ale>

At the moment it's Marin, Gerard, Juan Carlos, Mario Gaspar, Bruno and Moi Gomez, all of whom came up through Villarreal youth ranks. Plus, Manu Trigueros, Jaume Costa and Hernan Perez, all of whom played with B team for at least a year before making the jump.

"Sky Sports are unable to screen the first quarter of an hour of Bara's eagerly awaited clash away to Real Madrid because no British broadcaster is allowed to show live football between 2.45pm and 5.15pm. The rule is designed to protect attendances at British games with a 3pm kick-off."

Pepe 2-1, good corner. Matthieu is a bit out of his depth in this game.

Barca are a shadow of their former selves. They will never be as good as they were in 2009.

Barca may be keeping clean sheets against the lesser teams now, but their defence still looks weak against the better teams, as shown today and against PSG

Mourinho leaving Madrid has been the best thing happening to Madrid in years. Barca cant come in their usual tiki taka mode.

Busquests is a fraud if Xavi and Iniesta arent at their top level.

This week has shown how far Madrid have come since 2009, when their team, consisting of the likes of Van der Vaart, Robben, Sneijder etc. were getting thrashed by Liverpool and Barcelona

Really they spent billions, we didn't realise. Thank you for this brand new bit of information. (Money always means success of course)

The work rate of James and especially Isco Yikes

Superb game from us and a great team performance offensively and defensively

Remarkable that Ancelotti has managed to make us a passing side without us losing the counterattacking edge and directness.
