Ridiculous. Not even close to being a penalty. Pathetic dive from Fred. I feel sorry for the croatians.

Oscar still the best Brazilian on the pitch by some distance. Even if Brazil win tonight, which is likely, it hasn't been convincing.

Great goal by Oscar!

But to be honest, Croatia would have deserved a draw in this match. But now it's at least "legaly" won.

3-1 FT

Brazil win and start well into the tournament. There is a lot of room for improvement though, and they have to improve if they want to win the WC.

This is the best South America has got, needed a dodgy penalty and equally dodgy goal not given to beat one of the worst European qualifiers.

Brazil are gonna need a lot of help from the refs if tonight is anything to go by,

This Jap is the same that fucked Brazil in the last WC against Holland. That was a very biased refereeing in favour of Holland. He's obvious a corrupt. Took Brazil out and now FIFA told him to give some help to the hosts.

Why? They waited for England until the final against the Germans to give them the trophy. They will do the same in this WC.  ok

I thought Brazilians didnt moan about the ref? Besided he had a flawless game in 2010! What was wrong then? Me thinks he was getting deaththreats from you lot and now he making up for it.

Football need a video ref, I wish the rest of the world were as progressive as the Dutch and the English.

That pen was absolutely ridiculous.

It was by far the worst Brazil game in the last 15 games. Horrible. Playing like this Brazil would be completely humiliated by a team like Spain. Croatia played well and deserved a draw, but Neymar, Oscar and the ref changed the game. Oscar man of the match for me, even before his goal. I don't think it was poor goalkeeping. Oscar scored like Romário loved to do, a quick, low shot in the bottom corner that seems easy to defend but it's not. If the keeper defended that ball it would be a hell of a defence.

The crowd: horrible, even worse than the team. It's a pity the tickets are so expensive as to mold the crowd into a white, posh, conservative, racist, useless bunch of c**ts who don't follow their clubs (São Paulo FC for most of them) and have no idea how to support a team. I'm glad I didn't buy any ticket. But next game will be in Fortaleza, in the North, so the crowd will get a little better.

I saw a doc with the Brazilian that invented it. But maybe there are many similar but a little different versions invented elsewhere. It began to be used here in 2000.

Brazilians didn't blame the ref for the loss, and Brazil deseved to lose, I'm not taking Holland's merit out. But that refereeing was clearly aginst Brazil, who had to deal with it and win the game. If you find the thread of this game in 2010, you'll see I said exactly this after the game.

Football has been spoiled for me by watching the Stanley Cup where instead of being rewarded by such pussy behaviour, you would be sent to the penalty box!

I like football in itself better as a sport than hockey, but the way the players act nowadays really ruins a lot of the enjoyment for me... that a game can be decided by a heroic FLOP is patently absurd.

Yeah but....HOW...was Melo's red card not right? Did Holland won an undeserved penalty?  That was one of the best ref jobs I've ever seen. He didnt make a single wrong call, unlike tonight. Which makes it weird considering it was the same ref as back then.

Just caught a bit of the opening ceremony. Was it ITVs fault that the sound was so atrocious? I just saw JLo a potential tranny and that fucking slap head pointing and fist pumping alot and some faint noise.

Also.. Was the crowd booing during some of the dance bits? Specifically when they had kids kicking balls attached to elastic they were holding .
