Difficult week for us after the euphoria of Spurs a few weeks ago.

Glaringly obvious that we miss Sturridge - Sterling's game isn't the same without him for starters, Balotelli doesn't provide the same link up.

Still too many new players trying to get used to each other - Coutinho and Lallana in the same team is daft. Coutinho has been appalling in every game this season pretty much, fuck knows what's up with him but he's overthinking everything and is becoming a hindrance.

Lallana isn't fit yet and is trying too hard but already showing some quality signs. I think once he gets used to the team he'll be a key player for us.

Losing Allen was also a bit of a blow and it's meant Henderson is having to do pretty much everything in midfield but he's struggling.

Whilst we wait for our attack to gel with Balotelli and Lallana we are making embarrassing errors at the back. I thought Lovren was very good last night but there has to be communication with Mignolet for that goal, it was shameful. Sakho looks very out of sorts, he needs to stop thinking his physical presence can get him out of anything and start doing the basics right.

Moreno looks a very good signing. Still not convinced with Manquillo.

I think things are going to be a bit rocky for a few more weeks if I'm honest - Madrid would have beat us 6-0 last night. I'm not totally worried though, the players we have at our disposal will be frightening when they click and I have faith in Rodgers that he'll make it work.

Rafa lost it when he pissed off our best midfielder Alonso and sold him for no good reason.

Brendan's COLLAPSED our defence by making the same mistake with Agger http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/9483661/transfer-news-daniel-agger-left-liverpool-after-brendan-rodgers-rift

Sturridge out for another month.

All going tits up this season; Balotelli hasn't quite worked and the only alternatives are a fat Lambert and a player who struggled to start for Sunderland last season.

Big week ahead - a failure to beat QPR and a loss to Madrid could see the season really slipping away.

We need to get a point vs Madrid somehow or we're heading out the CL because we're losing away to them meaning we'd have to beat Basel at home and Ludogorets away and even that might not be enough.

Can't believe how much worse the team is without Suarez, Ballotelli is being compared to Suarez too much, they are different type of players and Ballotelli is being criticized too much, he hardly has any good service.

Losing Sturridge at the same time has screwed us. Disappointed that Lallana and Coutinho have not stepped up.

Brendan has to take the blame for the crap defence though.

Extremely harsh and quite ridiculous to blame Lallana at all. He was injured and is only just getting back to fitness and has looked pretty damn good. For some baffling reason he didn't start vs Madrid but looked decent enough when he came on.

Coutinho has really disappointed. Has all the potential but lacking confidence.

But yeah, losing Sturridge was too much of a blow when A) our other striking options are average and B) our defence is a shambles.

Still though, win tomorrow and we will most likely be 4th.

Rodgers has gone up in my estimation after his team selection last night. Very bold and most importantly it has paid off as it will give our defence a much needed confidence boost for the rest of the season. If they can shut out the likes of Ronaldo and Co then they can do it against anyone. Linekar, the press and the rest of the country are just upset that they didnt get the Madrid goalfest. After Newcastle, the players in question deserved to be dropped anyway.

Overall Lot of positives... Mignolet, Toure (MOTM for me), Skrtel, Can, Manquillo & Moreno have all impressed...

For me Kolo needs to keep his place. We never looked as commanding with Lovren in the team (which says a lot about Lovren vs a 35 year old) so I hope Kolo gets his chance now. Getting rid of Agger is beginning to look silly with every game we play.

The biggest disappointment on the night was Markovic.

Mr. Henry, Rodgers has fucked up the team, he's lost the dressing room. Every single player looked a thousand times better with their previous managers in their former teams and that only means that Rodgers is not the man for Liverpool.

Rafael Bentez is on his way back home. Biggrin <Ale>

Apparently Rodgers would have started Gerrard (seriously risking yet another loss) today had he known it was Stevie Me's 16th anniversary at the club.

If anyone still believes that Rodgers is the right guy for Liverpool, here's just another tip he is not the man for the club. No competent manager gives a start to anyone just for the occasion especially since Liverpool are in need of points and Liverpool looks a lot better without Gerrard on the pitch.

Let's face it, if you're behind West Ham at this time of the year, your season is in the bin.

Actually this time of the year is exactly the time when small clubs like West Ham, Blackpool, Swansea have all flattered to deceive in the past. If you're still ahead of us in February then you can swing your bollocks about <Ale>

Nope. Shearer doesn't even need trophies to wave about, that's how good he was.
