Congrats Pep  <Ale>

Thanks Ale

still drunk from the champions party yesterday.

 Very Happy

yesterday I attended the public Bayern training at Säbener STrasse

Pep has basically stopped this great tradition of PUBLIC trainings

the exceptions mostly being Sundays after the Saturday game

in that case the RESERVE players train in front of the fans and the others do some jogging and stretching on a side pitch out of public sight

it was the first time for a few years I watched one of those training sessions and the first time I saw Pep in charge

basically, the stuff on the pitch is pretty much the same as before; Pep just stands there and does not say anything, and when it's finished, he's not really interested in signing autographs either, unlike vGaal who LOVED that part, but Hitz, Klinsi, Heynckes also took it seriously

football-wise, they had a game on a MINI pitch, and the STAND-out player was, surprise surprise, one of my favourites: PIZZA

he alone scored something like 6 goals in 20 minutes; Shaquiri got one, not for lack of trying though; still , the Swiss has such presence, it's unreal

what a pity tough the two are rotting away on the bench; would be automatic starters in most teams in the world

Scholl's son is also very lively; I saw him him maybe 4 years ago when he played for the Bayern kids and he was one of the worst; he clearly only stayed because of his name/dad; what a development though; just shows that you cannot write kids off at that age

Rode is also the real deal

towards the end, the REAL stars came over from their hidden pitch

how things have changed over the years

in the past, it was all about Robben and Ribery

NOW

the fans go nuts for just ONE player

Thomas Müller

NOBODY cared for Lahm, who was always by Müller's side

nobody wears a Lahm shirt either

nobody shouted Neuer's name

and Robben was mostly busy talking to his dad; those two are like twins; scary

the shirts worn by the fans are all Müller, Schweini, Ribery, Robben, lot's of Götze and lots of Alaba and Shaquiri, which shows who many Swiss and Austrian fans were there

the audience has also become significantly more international over the years

a Lebanese bus tour here, some Chinese there, lots of Ösis...

the highlight for me though, was my man SAMMER

sitting on the balcony , watching critically over his players

when somebody joined him, like Müller-Wohlfahrt, he always gesticulated widely , clearly trying to make a point as if his life depended on him

we really need more like him

what an utter legend

 Biggrin

Watch out for Leverkusen this season. It's still early days, but their German manager Roger Schmidt is a huge upgrade to Hyypiä. Leverkusen play a very modern counter-pressing game under his reign that is quite similar to Dortmund's a while ago, when their intensity was higher. Leverkusen are even more radical at it than Dortmund are these days, they basically beat Dortmund with their own weapons.

If they can keep it up (they bought well this summer and considerably strengthened both their squad and first XI), they might have a say in the title race even. Will be interesting to see how they'll do in Europe as well.

We need more forethinkers like that in the league. Especially the "old guard" of struggling clubs like Werder, Stuttgart or Hamburg could do with someone visionary in charge.

We're in the 'improving, but still not there' phase. Against a pretty good Hoffenheim side we were the better team and should have won, but simply weren't able to convert our chances. The performance was better than against Hertha last week, but the result was the same. It's the small things, but to get those small things right is the most difficult thing in football. Leverkusen next week will be a very tough test, they're on fire under their new manager.

Whatever though, HSV lost 0-3 (!) to newcomer Paderborn, at home that is, so it's all good. Smile All the money thrown at the club, all the bullshit hype about Beiersdorfer being the man to get them back to the top, all the nonsense you've been reading for weeks, the kool-aid HSV fans (including otto) love to believe, and then this. Speaks for itself really, freaking Paderborn! At home! 99.99% of the hacks have them as the #1 candidate to get relegated this season, considering the ridiculous low budget and rather weak team. Hats off to them.

Alonso to start in the match vs. Schalke in half an hour btw. Starting a competitive match a day or two after joining, that's quite something.

As I said, I expect a tough season for Bayern. And again, there is a ton of potential in this Schalke side. With a better manager than Keller, they could be contenders.

They struggled with Robben playing against Wolfsburg last week, too, should have been a draw as well. That's way too simple and yes, Bayern are a lot more than just Robbery.

what exactly is it that I love to

believe ??  scratch

HSV are

POTENTIALLY

one of the top 2 clubs in

Das Vaterland

in

REALITY though

they are as shit as it gets

even worse

they have been for over 20 years

an utter and total farce / fail

the supervisory board has no Fussballkompetenz

the Vorstand is a joke

the fans are often delusional

...

Beiersdorfer was a joke in his first stint at HSV

so why would he be the saviour now

Grr

as I said in the past

there are a few people who could put HSV back on the map

1. Magath
2. Sammer
3, Kloppo

4. Beckenbauer

as a manager Tuchel would be brilliant as well

I fear HSV is now such a mess, even Heynckes , Schuster or my man Hrubesch

would fail miserably

oh wait

I cannot stand van Gaal

but HE would actually be good for HSV

as always fey is right

HSV have to get rid of Westermann, van der Vaart, ...

Slomka is too nice for this chaos club as well

painful but true

relegation would possibly have had a cleansing effect

THIS season I support Leverkusen and Frankfurt

Ale

the only good news is that HSV will still be

AHEAD

of Dutt's Werder at the

END of the season

cheers

Like last season, right? Smile

One undisputable law of German football, at least as irrevocable as Vizekusen and Schalke never winning the league, is that Bremen always finishes the season above Hamburg. No matter how deep the shit we're in, we're always better than H*V. It's like the laws of physics.

Schalke won it 3 times more then Bremen, I dont care what period it was, they did it. As for HSV, they could be 3rd league and still considered a sleeping giant in my eyes. They are the biggest club in the 2nd biggest city Germany has, a gazillion seasons below Bremen wont change that.

Westermann once said he is allergic to grass or leather...no shit if you see him play it all makes sense.

No decent transfers made all summer, perhaps this is the season where they will go down.

You don't care because you don't. know. history!

The Bundesliga started in 1963. Ever since, Schalke have never won the title. And H*V have never gone down. And Bremen is still better than both. Ale

So in your eyes Blackburn are bigger then Liverpool? I dont care if it was the Bundesliga, Bismarckliga or the FedorvonBockliga. Fact is Schalke won 7 league titles. And HSV won the CL..achievements Bremen failed to achieve during their long history.

Mourinho says Guardiola doesn’t enjoy football, cites Pep’s hair loss

Is there a better set of enemies in modern soccer than Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho?

The Spaniard and Portuguese managers continued their long-standing feud last week at the UEFA coaches summit when they clashed over – of all things – the length of grass on pitches.

According to the UK’s Express, Guardiola reportedly argued that the current length of 3cm was too long, that it should no exceed 1.5cm and that it should be watered before each match. A simple recipe, Guardiola said, to making the game quick and more beautiful.

To this, Mourinho is claimed to have countered: “Everyone has his style of play, which should be respected. Football can be spectacular in several ways.”

To which Guardiola then responded: “The beauty of football depends on the coach. It seems to me that Mourinho prefers the result to the spectacle. I know to him that’s all that matters.”

The spat reportedly ended there but was reignited by Mourinho on Wednesday when German publication Bild quoted him as saying the following: “If you enjoy what you’re doing, you don’t lose your hair. He’s got a bald head. Guardiola doesn’t enjoy football.”

A deep cut from Mourinho, there, and one that seems to imply guys like Arjen Robben and Wayne Rooney haven’t been enjoying their football for quite some time now.

In all seriousness, assuming these quotes are correct it’s abundantly clear that this feud has become downright outlandish. As fans we can only sit back, soak in the entertainment and hope that somehow the UEFA Champions League Gods match up Chelsea and Bayern in the Round of 16.

HSV just sacked Slomka

he was ALWAYS the wrong choice

despite being a good coach

they really now HAVE to get either

Tuchel

or

Magath

only those two, of all the coaches currently available,

can save this chaos club

the only intriguing alternative would be

Effenberg

what a gamble THAT would be though

please, no more NEDERLANDERS

and please no more gaffers that were once in charge of HSV

This club eh...

Its not like you couldnt see this coming with this squad..not really slomka's fault, though I dont rate him.

It seems they invested 26 million...I cant see it. Besides, Germans are always so fucking CHEAP.

Bayern spends that money on subs...

Even with that money added...I still see VDV and I still see Westermann..

IE they learned nothing from last year. Perhaps its for the better they relegate a year.
