UEFA (Platini) wants at least a French team in the semis. UEFA also wants one La Liga team KO.

Monaco vs. PSG
Atlético de Madrid vs Real Madrid
Bayern vs. Juventus / Porto
Barcelona vs Porto / Juventus

Except for Juventus. Because in italian language Munich is "monaco" Smile

I don't mind any opponent. Would like to avoid Real because we play them so often. A battle against Barcelona would be nice.

Yep...this is the chance to get into the top 4, something which Conte and management had set as a goal a couple of years ago.

After that, I believe, Juve with a little luck can take Real Madrid or even Barcelona.  Odds are not good, however, to get past them.

Bayern Munich have to be avoided. Smile

Why Real won 4-1 last time in the CL...

YEah, I know this is tough draw for Real. But as shitty as Real are atm, the Atletico era is about to come to an end, if you watch the last weeks its obvious that they are on their last legs.

Bad draw in general.

Would have liked.

Nah it's not that bad. It will tough without a doubt but we are bound to have some good games against them.
Also our record in cup competitions isn't too bad. We have played 4 Copa games in the last 3 years winning 2, drawing 1 and losing 1 and then we have one victory in the final last year and one loss in the Copa final in 2013.

However the idea of going out to them again would be terrible

I was hoping for much more interesting draw. Actually I prefer Europe League quarterfinals, PSG vs Barcelona and Atletico vs Real seems done to death.

Only Porto vs Bayern has some potential (hopefully).

We'll see how things go. Simeone has a way or really riling up his players before they play Madrid. We have a terrible record against them in the last 2-3 years apart from the CL final. The good thing is Modric and James are back as is Sergio Ramos and those players make a big difference. I want the CL more than anything this year because Pepito Guardiola's Farsa never one the CL twice in a row and it would really infuriate Messiah (wherever he is!) if it happened.

First half was good but I think Atletico managed to turn the match into a scrap our players fell for in the 2nd. However it was overall a much better showing than recent matches.

0-0 is a really shit result especially against Atletico. We have to be much more clinical.

Another dull CL game between 2 teams from the same country. It's always the same.

The result is bad but not terrible or anything. However the performance gives me hope that we can do it if we keep it up next week. If they recreate that intensity and concentration than I think we can win the game which is all we need to do.

Oblak played extremely well but there were definitely some big chances that we should have finished off. Bale notably. Benzema was also very subpar last night oddly. Seemed like every time he touched the ball he did the wrong thing. Obviously with the away goals rule the result is not optimal but my feeling is, if you can't win the home leg of a CL tie then you don't really deserve to go through anyway. So it's simple. Win in the Bernabeu. We should be up to the task.

Marcelo missing the second leg will be a big loss.

If Porto get through, and Juve do as well, and if Juve get Porto...

Just sayin'.

An Italian team in the Final? Who would have thunk it given Serie A's situation.

Tomorrow Napoli and Fiorentina have big opportunities as well.

Interesting year.

Yeah, but Napoli and Fiorentina are in shit form at the moment. I would be much more confident if it were Lazio and Sampdoria in their place.

I don't think Juve will make it past the semis, if they get there. Juve's problem is the lack of competition domestically. If Lazio can retain their best players, and add some depth, then maybe next season they can give Juve a proper challenge.

But despite all that, Serie A has had its best run in Europe in many years...
