Be prepared to be linked to a lot of players that are not good enough for Madrid. Benitez is a numbers man. I also hear he wants to buy Lazio's Biglia! Rolling Eyes I can feel your pain, mate. Hopefully Perez will veto most of Benitez's transfer requests.

This is the one saving grace of having FloPer in charge haha! Although he did allow Jose to bring Khedira. .. Grr

So - how good they are? I've missed probably all Malaga matches this season, so any information would be appreciated. What position do they plan? Marcelino seems to be favouring 4-4-2, so can any of them play up front?

Also, Villarreal loaned young French GK Alphonse Areola. Apparently a huge talent and he is expected to replace Asenjo for the time he is out with torn ACL.

Vietto is expected to leave to Atletico any day now and Leo Baptistao will be loaned for one season with an option to buy.

For me Castillejo is the real prospect. He is still just 19, I think. But more of a wide player, a goal maker. Good physique and good pace, a real handful out on the left.

Samu Garcia has the look of a proper '9' and he has scored some pretty impressive goals but overall his scoring rate isn't really that good. Some of that is down to playing in a pretty mediocre (overall) Malaga team.

Malaga are in big trouble though losing Castillejo, Samu Garcai and Juanmi. They are big relegation candidates for next year IMO. No sign of the sheikh anywhere....

Vietto to Atletico is official.

Jackson Martinez to Atletico is rumoured to be a done deal - 35m.

A few more odds and ends:

*Cheryshev being linked with both Liverpool and Everton but Marca also reporting that Benitez wants to keep him.

*Miguel Angel Moya said to have agreed to a move to Porto. Not sure if that is part of the Jackson Martinez deal or separate.

*Man City being linked with Alex Song. lol!

*Celta Vigo have signed Daniel Wass.

*Real Madrid being linked with River Plate goalkeeper Augusto Batalla for 3,5m

*Southampton supposedly offering 25m for Toby Alderweireld. Yikes

*Sevilla considering making a move to bring back Adriano.

*Felipe Caicedo has a lot of suitors. Al Hilal offering 4m but there are also offers from Mexico and Turkey for the Ecuadorian striker.

Song is considered a home grown player in england which is why city and Chelsea are interested, that added to the fact that he played well for west ham should mean, we can bet a good price for him, but as this is Barcelona we are talking about, maybe he leaves on a free.

Hey Messiah, I am hearing some rumours of an Inter move for Montoya... what are you guys hearing?

Also, since he has hardly played in the last 2-3 years, you think he is worth a punt? Would he have been Barca's starting RB if Alves had left, or do you think Barca would have bought someone else?

The only rumour I've heard was that Liverpool were interested in Montoya. There's probably 10 Spanish right backs better than him. Barcelona obviously have no faith in him because they even went as far as to sign Douglas, who is shit, just so they could avoid using Montoya.

Oh and since for sure Messiah will ask:

Juanfran
Dani Carvajal
Azpilicueta
Jonny
De Marcos (who isn't even a true right back)
Aleix Vidal (who isn't even a true right back)
Mario Gaspar
Coke
Hector Bellerin
Iraola (who is so old he is going to America to play in MLS)
Angel Rangel
Manquillo (ok probably not but I was on a roll...)

Montoya has stalled alot under tata and Luis, if we think back to the euro U21 he was exceptional, way better than carvajal who has since over taken him, but going by the u21 and a few games he had against real under pep and tito, where he was again very very good, against them, that no one can deny.

Them maybe he just needs a coach who believe in him and gives him a chance to play, because playing regularly is the only way a player can develop, but he has the tools to be a very good right back.

Especially In Italy, where fullbacks are asked to defend first, and move forward with more tactical disciple, he would do very well.

Overall he will be a very good player, once he gets games.

Interesting note on Valencia and FFP, Marca saying that their net spending so far is 108m but due to FFP regulations their maximum spending this summer can be 98m. So they will have to sell someone to balance things out. Maybe multiple sales because Nuno has said that he wants to sign another central midfielder and with Diego Alves a long time injury they probably need to also sign a goalkeeper before the end of summer.

Interesting that they have spent so much, without really buying many new players, only paying over the odds for Mendez players

The rest of the news and gossip for the day!

*Sevilla was being linked with Adil Rami who I have no idea how he played in Milan so far but the player released a statement saying he's not going anywhere so I guess that's that.

*Sevilla seemed to be in the pole position to sign Konoplyanka but now supposedly Stoke and Newcastle are both throwing crazy money at the Ukrainian winger. Back to the drawing board for Monchi.

*Koke's agent has come out and said that he has not and will not align himself with any of the FCB presidential pre-candidates even though I think Bartomeu had promised he had him lined up.

*Was rumoured that Southampton wanted to make a permanent move for Alderweireld and now there are reports that Tottenham are interested as well.

*Benfica are trying to loan Manquillo for next year. He was very irregular from what I could see in Liverpool last year. I don't think he is anything special.

*Espanyol would like to bring back Sergio Sanchez and of course everyone at Malaga is for sale. But Malaga signed the defender to pretty big wages when the sheikh was still around so now to return to Espanyol he would probably have to take a substantial pay cut.

*Juan Carlos who has been on loan at various Spanish clubs the last several years since leaving RM Castilla to sign with Braga. Now it looks like he will play on loan at Malaga for the next season.

*Sevilla will get around 200.000 euros for the transfer of Kondogbia.

*Bakkali to Valencia appears to be happening.

*Meanwhile Man City are pushing hard to sign Otamendi. Valencia owe about 30m for Negredo to Man City so maybe this is how they are able to balance the books a bit.

*Betis have made their second signing - brasilian midfielder Petros Matheus. Petros comes from Corinthians and Betis have paid 1,5m for half the rights to the player.

Martinez to atletico, guess that means they will also be selling griezmann, can't see how they can afford him plus Vietto, while also improving other areas of the squad, unless it's one of those shady 3rd party deals, like falcao

That is interesting, and may be a way to work around FFP actually. Looks like Valencia have bought 3 players at hyped up fees with Mendes involved. Now if Valencia also sell a player or two where Mendes is involved, and the money they get is also hyped up, that will be an indication of "balance sheet" fraud.

Clubs have done it in the past (remember the crazy deals between Inter and Milan involving Coco, Seedorf, Pirlo, etc?). Usually its between two parties/clubs, done by over valuing player swaps. Basically if Valencia bought 3 players from Benfica for 60m when their actual worth is say 40m. Then Valencia will sell 2-3 players to Benfica for 50m when their actual worth is 30m. So for Valencia, its the same difference. But from a P&L point of view (and FFP point of view) they look good. Because in the P&L, all the profits from sales are booked in the current financial year - so that 20m extra profit (50-30m) that they got will hit their accounts immediately. However, the transfer fee is amortised over the length of the contract. So the 20 extra payment they made (60-40) hits them at 4m pa for 5 years. So they had an extra net profit of 16m (20-4) this year, buy overvaluing players.

In this case, clearly Benfica is not going to buy Valencia's players at inflated values. But with someone like Mendes involved, it looks fishy. Mendes is clever enough to not be directly involved in Valencia's sales, but he could be pulling the strings in a series of such transactions across europe and over 2-3 years so as to escape suspicion.

So if Valencia sell some players at inflated prices (say from 2014-2016), it will look very suspicious. If not, then they just overpaid for these players.

They just sold Mandzukic and Joao Miranda for nearly 35m combined. If they sell one of their other bigger names my guess is it will be Arda Turan.

Yeah I just saw the turan rumors, was unaware that wanted to sell him, it would be great business from atletico to sell Miranda, turan and mandzukic and replace them with those two, though I think Martinez is a bit too old, clubs like atletico need to buy player who has resale value.

Whatever happened to that argentine kid they bought, who developed health issues, he is supposedly very talented.

Sevilla want to buy Fer....FFS why!!

Fer needs to box-to-box the shit out of wet meadows in the north of England. Not engage in a game of football!

Allthough I have a feeling Sevilla thinks they owe their succes to M'bia. And want more of that now.

I don't think they want to sell Turan, per se. But there is always a lot of interest in him because he is a very good player. Martinez is 28, sure, but if he has a huge season for Atletico they could sell him right away. They sold Diego Costa after one year. Falcao after one year (or was it two?). Right now, Atletico don't need to sell players to make money. They are in a very good financial situation and as they are consolidating themselves as a CL team they will keep raking in the CA$H.

Angel Correa is back! He is supposed to do preseason with the first team. His heart surgery is behind him now and he's been cleared to play. Yeah supposed to be really good.

Some more news and rumours for everyone!

*Deportivo have signed Fernando Navarro who had rescinded his contract with Sevilla. He's a pretty reliable left back. Nothing fancy but he's had some injury troubles and Tremoulinas has been mostly the first choice for Unai Emery. Good signing considering Depor have no money.

*Big rumour that Barcelona were going to make an attempt to sign Di Maria. Now it's coming out that there was a clause in the transfer to Man Utd that the English can't sell Di Maria to Barcelona. So Di Maria would have to go somewhere else first if he eventually wanted to sign for the Polish champions!

*For everyone who has been waiting for some Levante transfer gossip - they are being heavily linked with Hugo Rodallega. I had to look it up but I guess he's been playing in Fulham most recently. He must be about 900 years old by now.

*Porto trying to sign Sergi Darder from Malaga. Pretty much the last player that Malaga have that could be sold for a decent amount. Would make 7 Spanish guys at Porto if they sign Darder and Moya.

*Lots of rumours surrounding Barcelona and Sevilla who have already done a deal for Aleix Vidal and have a recent history of good transfer relations (Dani Alves, Adriano, Rakitic, Deulofeu, Denis Suarez, etc.) Apparently Barcelona wanted to bring back Suarez who was loaned for two years at the beginning of 2014-15 with the option to terminate the loan early for 4m euro after the first year. There is a discrepancy over whether or not the payment of this fee constitutes a transfer or not (which would affect FCB's ability to register the player because of the ban). FCB is arguing that they are just paying to move up the end of the loan. In any case, Sevilla are also interested in Montoya (on a permanent deal) and Halilovic (on a loan deal).

*Lots of drama regarding Sergio Ramos which I really haven't gotten into. His current deal ends in two years, the player wants a new contract and a raise, the club have negotiated but haven't met the players demands yet. Ramos has been heavily linked with Man Utd in the last week or so. I think this is mostly an invention of the press (that Ramos would actually leave this summer). But apparently now Marcelo is also grumbling about a new deal too.

*Malaga have signed Fabio Espinho. Never heard of him.

*Villarreal being linked with Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré. I haven't seen much of the U20 WC but apparently he had some good performances. Currently he is playing in Deportivo Cali.

*Looked like Espanyol were definitely going to sell Hector Moreno. Several english and italian clubs had enquired or so went the rumours. Transfer fee was somewhere in the area of 10m euro. But now they are saying that Moreno wants to stay one more year, after which he will be out of contract because he wants to go to a team in the CL. He's only 27 so even next year he could realistically sign a 4 year deal for a CL team and with no transfer fee to pay probably get higher wages. Of course Espanyol want to sell now to try and get something for the Mexican defender.

*Athletic are offering 8m for Natxo Monreal. Apparently he's not going to demand a transfer from Arsenal. It sounds like Arsenal are not in a big rush to do anything regarding the player's situation. It would be a big signing for Athletic although I've heard the kid in the B team, Urtzi Iriondo, is pretty good. They also still have Balenziaga (just ok IMO), Aurtenetxe (still has potential but doesn't seem to be in Valverde's plans) and Saborit (awful). But Monreal would be way better than any of those options.

Today's gossip!

*Apparently Bartomeu is promising...wait for it...Iborra! Luis Enrique wants him for some reason, why I have no idea. Bizarre.

*Meanwhile Monchi has confirmed that Denis Suarez is staying for 2015-16 and also that they have completely discarded Konoplyanka as a transfer target.

*Otamendi and Koscielny being mentioned as possible replacements for Sergio Ramos if he leaves. Rolling Eyes

*Pedrito being linked with Liverpool, Inter, PSG, and Man City. I hope he leaves!

*Supposedly Villarreal interested in Zappacosta and Belotti both Italian U21s.

*Deulofeu to Everton and Charles to Malaga are official. ok

*It looks like the new Getafe manager could be Fran Escribá. Rumours that he will be presented next week.

*Sevilla have released Manu del Moral, Baba, and Cicinho.

*Atletico are hoping to loan Borja Bastón to a first division club. He was on loan at Zaragoza last year but Atleti have a lot of hopes for him and want to give him experience in the top flight.

*Roma are the latest to express interest in Carlos Bacca. Monchi has said he's not for sale and if someone wants Bacca not to bother calling the club but to deposit 30m euro (Bacca's buyout) in the bank.

*Rafa asking to make his first "Rafa signing" which is none other than Lucas Vazquez from Espanyol. He started out in a youth team in Galicia ended up in the RM C and B teams for a while. Pretty average but he is a facking runner. Would be a backup for the right wing.

*Someone was asking about Turan the other day and there is a story out of AS today that Man Utd are offering 40m for the Turkish midfielder. Original story was from Talksport so I don't know how reliable. AC Milan, Chelsea, and PSG (of course) also being linked with Turan.

We (Atletico) have already signed Vietto and Jackson Martinez and now we are on the brink of signing 'the new Mascherano', namely Matías Kranevitter. I have been watching some youtube videos of him (I know) and he looks brilliant.

A few odds and ends...

*Sergio Garcia is leaving Espanyol to play in Qatar for Al-Rayyan. He's been in the club 5 years now and he really became one of the banner players. Have no idea where Espanyol will find goals next season.

*It looks like Rafa Benitez really is buying back Lucas Vazquez. 1m euro for the right winger who had a decent season for Espanyol last term. The new "Antonio Nuñez". Erm

*Villarreal are selling Gio Dos Santos for 7m euro to MLS in America. Going to be a very new look Yellow Submarine come August.

*Laporta is basically promising Pogba if he is elected president. Still some of the early polls show Bartomeu ahead slightly.

*Valencia pulled out of the Rodrigo Caio transfer because they said he failed his medical with big questions over a previous knee injury. Apparently Atletico have swooped in and are trying to finalise the transfer.

*Arda Turan looks like he could be going to Chelsea. His agent is talking a lot these days but it sounds like the deal would include Chelsea sending Filipe Luis back to the Vicente Calderon.

*Joao Miranda passed his medical with Inter so that is a done deal. 15m euro.

*Real Sociedad may start the preseason with zero first team goalkeepers. There is an ongoing saga over the possible transfer for Geronimo Rulli to Valencia who are looking for a stand in while Diego Alves is injured. Plus they released Zubikarai. Three kids from Sanse have been called up by Moyes for their first stage of preseason.

*Marca reporting that Milan are going to pay the buyout for Carlos Bacca. The only thing they are negotiating is the schedule of payments.

*Sevilla being linked with John Guidetti as they prepare to lose Carlos Bacca. Fey will have to start following la liga now! Wink He would be available on a free transfer.

*RM shopping Lucas Silva around. With the signing of Danilo and the return of Casemiro (plus James) they have the three non-EU places filled. Lucas Silva had been linked with Sevilla earlier but now Deportivo being mentioned as a possible loan destination.

*Villarreal wanting to make the Victor Ruiz loan deal a permanent one. Sounds like the clause is for 3m euro. He had some talented Victor Ruiz. I think it was a big mistake when he went to Italy so early in his career. Just turned 26 so he still has his best years ahead of him.

*Real Madrid being linked with several names in wake of all the Sergio Ramos rumours. I still don't believe he is leaving, not yet anyway. The first is Bonucci from Juve. Um, no thanks. As we all know it's a disaster waiting to happen for a Serie A defender to move to Spain. Now being linked with Marquinhos (not sure really how good he is or isn't) and Aymeric Laporte who I do love. He's not Sergio Ramos but he is a great young defender. Laporte was being linked with Milan. I think his buyout is still pretty reasonable, like 20m or something.
