Die Bundesliga 2015/16

Post by Guest on Thu Jul 02, 2015 4:44 pm

Nobody has started a thread so I thought I would start one so I can put this here:

Douglas Costa (24) from Shakhtar Donezk to FC Bayern. Contract until 30.6.2020. Fee reportedly 30m (kicker/Bild).

AND

Ilkay Gndogan (24) extends his contract at BVB until 30.6.2017

it's difficult getting excited about the Bundesliga these days

such is the dominance of Bayern

they just signed Stuttgart's number one keeper as their Neuer back-up

it's plain silly

champion by easter again ?

we need more socialism like in the NBA

yes they will

Labbadia is goodish

nothing more

nothing less

HSV will end up 10-14th

I hope Tuchel makes an impact at Dortmund

otherwise

very little to get excited about

although

in fairness

Gladbach under Favre are doing a superb job

just like Augsburg and Wolfsburg

my hunch is, other than Bayern

the Bundesliga clubs will struggle in Europe

once again

my focus will be on the NBA

as well as Kittel and Degenkolb cheers

What a coup! Vidal is about to sign for Bayern! Only 35m!! A steal!

Not sure if signing all these big names making Bayern stronger.

Psst! Tina Fey, Wolfsburg have signed my boy Ascues. He's the one that I think is better than Tapia and so does Hecking.

I could actually do with a bit less excitement this season... No repeats of that last matchday, please. pale

Re:Ulle: Germany's next Frhrentner needed to let the world know that he is "totally fine" with giving Vidal his jersey number... https://twitter.com/CheyRodr/status/626377755169529856 Rolling Eyes SGZ/Sommerloch is here, folks.

Just watching Bayern vs Wolfsberg. Bayern don't impress me at all. I am not sure what Guardiola is going for, but a midfield of a 33 year old Alonso and Thiago doesn't provide the possession of a Busquets, Iniesta, Xavi midfield or the defensive steal of a Swinestiger, Martinez, Kroos midfield.

Why on earth would you replace Toni Kroos with the often anonymous Thiago Alcantara? I am glad we sold him now, his brother is better.

Under Henykes they also got the ball to Robben and Ribery much quicker. And why the hell does Neaur think he's an outfield player? Who remembers his comical showing versus Real Madrid in the 2014 CL SF? It was the same again tonight. It's obvious why nobody else has ever tried to replicate this "sweeper keeper" bullshit. It just doesn't work.

Pep is too clever for his own good sometimes. He should remember the KISS acronym - keep it simple stupid.

True. But some of his experiments are just insane. Since Guardiola is doing it, it's called highly innovative, but if 99% of coaches would do it - they would be killed by press.

Against Wolfsburg he tried to play 3 defenders without wingbacks ahead of them, only wingers playing much higher on the pitch. It's suicidal, especially if back 3 is protected by someone with mobility of Xabi Alonso.

Years ago Lorenzo Serra Ferrer tried to do something similar in Barcelona, with 3-man back line and wingers (in Overmars and Simao Sabrosa). Guess what? It didn't work either.

Only one who was able to pull it off was van Gaal with his Champions League winning team, when he had 3-man backline and Finidi + Overmars playing as pure wingers. But backline was protected by Rijkaard, as well as Ronald de Boer and Davids having legs and football IQ to do a work needed defensively.

Leverkusen have signed Charles Aranguiz from Internacional. Very good player, a worse version of Vidal but still very good.

Now that Dortmund are gone it's just a glorified Scottish league. No title race no party.

I just watched Wolfsburg, they looked Okay. But I think last season will be a bit of a one off, I see Dortmund finishing above them comfortably. Leverkusen are strong and there is always a surprise package in the Bundesliga so I think Wolfsburg will struggle to finish 3rd.

Them bottling it spectacularly post minute 75 again this weekend may be a little too much for this fair maiden...

But at least they're playing something resembling football, so I'm grateful for small mercies.

Dortmund have struggled to break Berlin down but they score from their first chance - a cross by Kagawa and a header by Hummels.

By the way where have Kroos and Blut gone? I miss owning Blut. Sad
