That's the first time I've read anything positive from you Kimmy - is your season all about finishing ahead of Palace then?

No, but finishing ahead of Pardew and Sunderland is important to me. So many pundits and fans(not Newcastle fans) think we're going to be worse off without Pardew and his mates, and apparently Palace having Pardew is a big plus for them. I'm tired of the half-arsed articles from journalists and ex-players that only watch the top 4. I want to see reality dawn on them all and have a really schadenfreudey wank over it.

Our season is mainly about not being in a relegation battle, having a go at a cup, and actually playing football again rather than Pardball.

Im really looking forward to this season! ANYTHING can happen, well not Spurs for 4th place, but for the rest.

I dont have a good feeling about Man Utd, they spend so much, yet its still so meh. Besides buying is never a great skill for Man utd or van Gaal.

-----------------------De Gea-------------

---Darmian----Jones-----Blind--------Shaw---------

-----------Schweinsteiger------Herrera----------

------Depay---------------Mata---------------Young--------

-------------------------Rooney---------------------------

That looks pretty good to me provided Depay is as good as everyone is making out and Young continues his form from last season.

Defensively there's still questions though - it's the same for us and City to some extent.

That's where Chelsea have the edge - they have by far the most settled and solid defence. Arsenal should be a lot better with Cech in goal in this department.

Schweini will be injured most of the season, so I think Schneiderlin will be a starter.

Its Newcastle v Southampton straight away Very Happy

And us vs Spurs...great starting weeked!!

Not getting hate fucked by Southampton would be an improvement on the previous regime.

They have Fellaini of course as well.

They're short up front though - an injury to Rooney would be damaging but then City are the same - I'm actually amazed more so with City that they haven't gone and got a Benzema. Aguero is injury prone and they're in talks to let Dzeko go to Roma. Madness. They do have Bony but he's not good enough to start games for them.

I do believe Unied genuinely wanted Ronaldo or Bale this season and had they got one they may have won the league.

van Gaal is so shite these days! What made him stood out vs the rest was he educated players himself.

No he is like all the others.

Only Bielsa left then as genuine coach.

According to ITK info on Everton forum (who has a good record with injures info) Baines is out for 3 months. Hopefully Oviedo (or Galloway) can step up, but it's not the news I've expected 24 hours before start of the season. And Baines was looking sharp during the preseason after his late spring surgery.

Romero, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Young, Depay, Mata, Rooney

A midfield duo of Schneiderlin and Carrick is very defensive. They are going to miss the Swine.

Well if Spurs have a go there's goals to be had against that defence and keeper.

Let's see what this Depay is all about.

Tottenham have completely folded since that stupid goal they give away. Pathetic mentality. And I can't believe how United can be so ordinary after spending so much money. Typical DPL club. We (Liverpool) are the same.

Walker, Bentaleb and Dier are shit and always will be. Get them off. I can't stand Kyle Walker, all he has is pace, I said this years ago on here and MWP was having none of it.

Spurs needed to score when they were on top for 20 minutes. Such an ordinary side - Chadli has been utterly ineffective.

They'll comfortably finish top 7 but no way near a top 4 team. Same goes for us unless our new signings can change that.

Depay? Meh. I'll give him a few months but a fairly lukewarm debut.

True, I also don't see a point playing him behind Rooney, but maybe van Gaal knows what he is doing.

Schneiderlin and Darmian were solid though, but van Gaal really surprised me taking Darmian and replacing him with Valencia for last 10 minutes.

As reported - Baines out, Galloway starts as LB. Lukaku starts, let's see how long his hamstring will survive...
