Montero had the beating of Ivanovic every time. The commentator said that last season, Montero had a 75% success rate when dribbling against the opposition full-back. And their other winger, Ayew, was one of the best players in the French League. Speaking of Ligue 1, Nice vs Monaco is starting soon!

The real stuff kicks off tomorrow - Benteke to eat some Stoke defenders alive, West Ham to sucker punch Arsenal and a post Carver Newcastle up against HSWHW.

I get the feeling ivanovic as RB is going to cost Chelsea some games this season. Instead of chasing Stones, they should focus on getting a specialist FB, left or right, and move Ivanovic to back up CB.

Ubermong starts, he won't last long. He always seems to impress the manager in pre-season then disappears quickly.

They should have moved Azuepuelta to RB and played Filipe Luiz at LB. But that's too attacking for Moroninho.

Apparently Ronald Koeman injured his Achilles tendon during training and is out for tonight's match.

West Ham impressive here - baffling that they can be so good without Allardyce; Souness won't be able to understand it.

Newcastle leading now.

Satisfactory Ale Southampton have been our Bill Cosby in recent seasons.

- we were the better team until Anita went off injured, at which point the midfield folded, despite this Clogback is getting plaudits because he blocked a shot at the end
- Wijnaldum is great, Fey is wrong
- we're going to concede shitloads from crosses, having 2 CB's under 6ft does not work
- the style of play is the polar opposite of Pardew's
- ref was a shit

Murray wrote:Arsenal's season has collapsed about 6 months earlier than normal.
it doesn't quite work like that. If we start well, they'll be a collapse sometime in the second half of the season and then we'll eventually pick up enough points in the run in to make top 4.

If we start badly we'll start to pick up points around December and look imperious followed by a short collapse that takes us out of PL and CL contentions before we surge to a comfortable top 4 finish.

Both scenarios result in blind optimism from the Wenger faithful. All thinking this will finally be the summer that Wenger properly plugs the holes in the otherwise impressive squad and that any quotes from him suggesting otherwise is just Wenger being cryptic trying to get the best fee. And when he doesn't, they'll make excuses like "who's available?..." and "x player has played some games there, he can do a job..."

Rinse and repeat.

Not even upset. Just waiting for him to leave.

Arsenal will finish top 4 comfortably, I don't think there's any serious competition coming from Pool or Spurs, but people talking about them winning the title when they've only strengthened one position was weird to me, it's not like Chesney was even a bad keeper.

No, he was playing Chelski so he got snapped by Del Horno.
