Chelsea boss Mourinho angry with Mikel Obi attitude

Post by Parks lives on Fri Nov 03, 2006 12:47 pm

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been angered by John Obi Mikel's lack of discipline since his arrival in the summer.

The Times says it is understood that the Nigerian teenager was left behind in London this week while Chelsea travelled to their Champions League game in Barcelona as a punishment for his lack of discipline, with Mourinho frustrated by his poor time-keeping and casual attitude in training.

Instead of training with the first-team squad and sitting on the bench in the Nou Camp, he suffered the indignity of being forced to play in the reserves, turning out against West Ham United at Aldershot on Monday.

The Nigerian had already been fined twice this season for turning up late to training and after another incident last week, Mourinho decided that enough was enough, telling him in no uncertain terms that he would not be picked again until his punctuality improved.

Mourinho is also concerned by the size and composition of his entourage, with the manager fearing that his numerous friends and advisers do not instil a sufficiently professional attitude.

    lol!

More trouble than he is worth, very talented player going to waste it all.
Can only laugh, he and his agents are happy he is making all that money all he ever cared about.

What's really funny is that Chelsea can afford to hijack your transfer targets and if they turn out to be s**t they can just bench them and buy someone else.

It is so nice to see Man United not being able to dominate the transfer market any more.

Fair enough....but end result, ruined careers and unfulfilled potential. I care BUT not that much!

I thank our lucky stars - of all the GREAT YOUNG stars - 2 out of 4 are at our club! (Torres and Messi being the other 2) ok

Spot on. Clearly he's an asshole with too high an opinion of himself. 12 million quids worth of disruption and arrogance for Chelsea, 12 million quid for Man U. I'd say Man U got the better end of the deal.

what was he thinking when he chose chelsea ahead of manu? that he's going to start regularly ahead the likes of Ballack, lampard , essien, maka?

He needs games at this age to improve, doesn't he know that? maybe the benjamins are more much more important to him.

Don't be silly - Mido may be an arrogant bastard, but at least he's managed to be one of the most important players on whatever team he's joined.

    *Outperformed Zlatlan at Ajax

*Great understanding with Drogba at Marseilles

*Played a big hand in getting Celta Vigo into the CL

*Nearly acheived the same thing with Spurs last season, 2nd highest scorer and most assists on the team.

Mikel has a long way to go to match that.
